Your Wedding Questions Answered!

What costs are the guests responsible for while traveling?
We will provide transportation to and from the venue, as well as lodging from January 12th to January 15th. Guests will be responsible for their flight costs and any accommodations before and after checking out of the venue on January 15th.

What is required to travel to India?
To travel to India, you will need a valid passport and a Tourist Visa. Here’s some information on how to apply for and obtain a tourist visa!​

​​What is the cost of a flight to Cochin International Airport (COK)?

The cost of a round-trip flight from the USA to COK can vary depending on the departure city and airline. On average, round-trip prices range from $1,200 to $1,800.

How long is the flight to Cochin International Airport (COK)?
Flights from the United States to COK typically take 18-22 hours, depending on layovers and the departure city. You will most likely have at least one layover, often in cities like Dubai. We recommend scheduling a flight that departs on the night of January 9th or the morning of January 10th to ensure you arrive on time for venue departure!

When should I book?
For the best price on a flight to Cochin International Airport (COK), we recommend booking at least 3 to 6 months in advance, ideally between July and October 2025.

How will we get to the wedding venue, and where will we meet for the pickup?

We will provide transportation from Courtyard by Marriott Kochi Airport, departing at 12:00 PM on January 12th. Please plan to arrive before this scheduled departure. We recommend arriving on January 11th and resting at the Marriott before traveling with the party to the venue.

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?
We warmly welcome you to bring a plus one to join in this special adventure!

What is the RSVP deadline?
We kindly ask guests to RSVP by August 1st, 2025. Early RSVPs are highly encouraged, as you may need to apply for a passport, obtain a visa, and monitor flight prices.

What if I can’t afford it?
We understand that not everyone may be able to make this trip. We will have a separate celebration in the United States after the wedding, so stay tuned for details if that works better for you and your budget!

Are rooms blocked for guests, and how many people can share a room?
We recommend sharing rooms, ideally with up to 4 people per room. Once the venue is confirmed, we’ll inform you of the maximum number of guests allowed per room.

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Are different colors required for different events?

We’re still finalizing our wedding plans, so stay tuned! We recommend selecting three outfits—check our Attire page for more details. As we finalize the event details, we’ll provide a video playlist below to help you get acquainted with the pre-wedding events (e.g., Haldi, Mehendi, Sangeet) you'll experience during your trip!

Should I bring a gift?
We do not expect gifts for this wedding.

What language is spoken in Kerala?

The native language of Kerala is Malayalam, but English is also widely spoken, especially in urban areas and tourist destinations. 

Where and how can I exchange USD for INR?

You can exchange USD for INR at the currency exchange counters at the airport or withdraw INR from an ATM. If using an ATM, ensure your card is enabled for international transactions and check with your bank for any foreign transaction fees.

What's the time difference?

India is 10 hours and 30 minutes ahead of Eastern Standard Time (EST).

What is the weather like in India during this time?
In Munnar, the weather is cool and pleasant, with daytime temperatures ranging from 60°F to 80°F (15°C to 27°C) and chilly nights.

What type of food will be served at the wedding?
The wedding ceremony will feature a vegetarian menu, but there will be non-vegetarian options available during other events. Please let us know if you have any allergies, and we’ll guide you throughout the dining process.

What is the wedding day itinerary?
We are still finalizing the details for the wedding and will update you once the official itinerary is ready.

Do you have any recommendations for texting or phone use while in India?
WhatsApp is a great app to use for minimizing overseas charges while abroad!
